I've had the opportunity to observe many coaches and their programs but have yet to find a program with a leader like Pery Gordon who is committed to the big picture in all aspects of his players lives. Percy is truly altruistic (unselfish concern for others) Coaching at the amatuer level is all about preparing young adults to be successful grown adults. It takes a true leader to see the big picture and use their sport as a vehicle to teach his players how to win the game of life. Percy espouses that! The term "committed" would be an understatement to describe Percy's desire to impact the girls of GA Pistols Gold - Team 1993. He's planting seeds and watering them constantly to unsure a brighter future as his young ladies prepare for high school, college, and life. He embodies a rare nuturing characteristic that needs to be more prevalent in today's parents and coaches around the country. In the terms of Calvin Coolidge "Press On" And for all those players honored and selected to be a part of this unique and opportunistic team, empty the tank everyday and apply what Percy has taught you on all avenues of your life. Never hang around anyone or anything that isn't going anywhere! Continued success Percy! |
